WHAT IS 44CUP?

The RC44 was originally conceived in 2005 by the New Zealand legend of the America's Cup, Russell Coutts, with naval architecture by Slovenian Andrej Justin.

Since its launch in 2007, the 44 Cup circuit has developed in the best international racecourses. Over these 17 years, as the class strengthens, new destinations and teams are incorporated into the calendar.

An exciting calendar for 2024 will take the 44 Cup to the Caribbean. The season starts in Lanzarote, specifically in Puerto Calero, and returns to continental Europe with a new destination: Baiona on the northern coast of Spain. The third venue is a regular on the circuit, Marstrand, Sweden, followed by the World Championship event in Switzerland, where Brunnen will host the 44Cup World Championship. The 2024 season will conclude in the Virgin Islands (Bermuda).

THE BOAT

THE BOAT

WHY SO SPECIAL?

The design:

These one-designs have been designed with the advantages of dinghy sailing in mind but for larger boats. They are fast when they go downwind (downwind) and powerful when they are against the wind. They are inspired by the America's Cup, although with enough of their own elements to compete in match racing and fleet tests. They are high-performance boats designed for “top” international regattas, which are carried out under very controlled class rules.

Easy and comfortable transportation:

The way of transporting them is also a great novelty. They are disassembled and the mast is placed inside a container, divided into two pieces, the hull, the rudder and the boom. This saves space and makes both storage and transportation easier.
